Entry #9 Food Poison

Hello everyone how are we doing. Another day and another blog. Today, I want to take you

with me for a thought about a topic that I’ve been thinking about more in the last few years as I

feel like it relates so much to my health as I grow older and I think your decisions really can

have a long-term impact on your overall well- being especially when it’s something that’s an

essential part of our lives that we can’t live without, but interestingly enough it gets ignored

sometimes when it comes to thinking about how to approach it. As a college student, it gets

hard sometimes to stay on top of everything and being efficient in what you do or not taking

shortcuts, and food is one of the things that needs planning to make sure what you’re getting in

your system is healthy enough and this is where the challenge is as there is always easier

options where it wouldn’t take that much time and effort to buy fast food from almost any spot

at any time, but knowing what you’re eating isn’t healthy is what makes me think twice.

I’m a person who’s been raised on eating traditional homemade food, but after my parents

left, it became hard to me to maintain that way of making food at home so I would be in

situations where I’m rushing and got assignments due and that wouldn’t let me have that much

time to make food, so I would end up buying food from outside knowing that another negative

factor of it is the expense as it would keep adding up every time I buy food and end up realizing

that it’s financially not that smart to still do it. I always have questions about where was this

food processed? How was it kept till it got here? Were the animals fed correctly? Were there

any chemical injections that were part of the food in a way or another? All these questions that

are growing bigger and bigger as the whole industry is changing from times where most of the

things we eat were fully organic without being chemically treated and things were way simpler

back then, but now the business side of it is impacting the concept that we used to believe in

where speed and money is more favored than quality. Continuing on this path can really be

effective on future generations.

What’s difficult about the situation is that there are organic options that became rare

nowadays when it was the opposite back then, but the issue is the expensive prices that

doesn’t make it easier for the consumer that cares enough about the topic. Lacking enough

interest from the public can be a reason to where we reached nowadays and the lifestyle that

forces you to not have enough to consider your options and actually making change is what

would make it hard and would need a lot of effort to change the situation where we’re in to at

least not have our future generations get into the same loop that would be hard to get out of.

Entry #10 A Peak Through The Blinds

Hello everyone! Did somebody say something about a blog including me talking about my favorite show. Let's take a peak through these blinds and talk about the lessons I learned watching Peaky Blinders. A small street turned into a small gang then into a criminal empire all ruled by Thomas Shelby himself. Having an empire that big bring the attention of other gangs causing fights over power. It came down to who has more power, by more power meaning; guns, insiders, drug empires, and land. On that land they had rigged horse racing and they had ports to transport weapons. One of the most important places for these men were the bars they held all of their business meetings at. This brought the attention of other mafias.

Loyalty is a double edged sword. When having to rely on outsiders comes at a cost. They can be bought by your enemy, giving them your information, your possible next move, and your last whereabouts. Shelby would go to the doctor often from PTSD that he developed during the WWI. The doctor would often do screenings and X-Rays of Thomas to determine what was causing the issue. Problem was Shelby was perfectly fine this whole time but the screenings and X-Rays were tampered with to make it look like there were serious issues. Having rival oppositions caught up to Shelby which made the doctor sell Shelby's loyalty for money. After having to deal with this, Shelby was having traumatic experiences and severe PTSD. This lead Shelby to insanity to the point where he would just end it.

The never underestimate strategy is used quiet often by Shelby to outsmart, outman, and outgunning his rivals. With carful scouting and serious planning Thomas would perform superior to his enemies. With this came power to expand his illegal underground drug and smuggling businesses. One being a coalmine, another police departments and even underground boat tunnels used to smuggle other war inmates in town.

Entry #8 Wise Guys

What is going on you guys! Another blog, another movie. By this time, you guys should already know I like watching my, I guess you could call it "old money" movies. You may ask why? The lessons, the clothes, the way they talk and so many other things... It brings back so much memories and makes you live that time where this generation didn't get to experience. Looking back at those movies and comparing it to today's world is completely different. Even their accents were slightly different than how people talk now. One of the legendary 90's movies was Good Fellas. The movie good fellas has taught me so many lessons and even changed the perspective of how to view certain morals and values and really showed at least one angle if not all the angles of what was it like to live in New York. With that being said and how the idea and vibe of the movie is great itself, the actors played a huge role in showing the viewers and reflecting the little details of the story due to their great acting as they were all skilled and experienced to portray that picture of what was it like to live in those times.

In today's world, everything has a price tag. It's not only the sold products that have a price on them, but other aspects of life come with their own consequences or let me say price. Your actions will cost you something, and for the Good Fellas, it was their murders that had a price they needed to pay. Even though you might think you got away with your actions that affected someone, karma will always come back and either gets you with prison, death, or betrayal, which was an angle that the movie showed.

Everyone talks about the American Dream,  but sometimes a dream can turn into a nightmare which is something that not all people think about and usually just think about the temporary good things that happen first without really keeping in mind the probability that things can go south real quick. One thing that was shown is that the idea that anyone can rise from nothing to success through hard work and dedication and how you can climb the ladder to wealth and power, but by taking the risky shortcut of crime. The movie showed that chasing those things without a limit leads to ruin and you would end up losing your identity, your people and end up living the "normal" life again and kind of spinning back into the same old loop that you tried running away from.

Entry #7 How Fresh Is Fresh

When we watch movies, we watch them for entertainment and to eliminate the boredom of our day. Yes, movies might teach us a thing or two, but some might change our ways of living. Watching an angle of life through the lens of the movie changes your preceptive on how to view things in life. That delusion in the movie might be the hidden reality that we haven't experienced as if it's like giving us a wake up call as if we were in our deep sleep like a bear. The movie "Fresh" will make you look at your consumption for food differently. Looking at food in grocery stores is going to feel like buying chemicals instead of "fresh" produce.

The amount of, "what the heck" or "ewe's" while watching "Fresh" is going to be natural moments. Those scenes shown are not going to have you laid back and realize how it is in other movies. Fresh 2009 was the reality check for many people and many preceptive changes. You sink in more and more, the longer you watch the movie. Some audience might see it as, "I'm done watching" while others will see it as, "I need to change my ways." I personally changed the places I used to shop at, not only that but, the way I look at food products in stores. What goes on in my mind is completely different from what I used to imagine. The curiosity behind this movie is what grabs the viewer's attention in a way or another where it makes you think about things that you never thought about.

Now a days, its so normal to fit in and live day by day normally with the same routine as everyone else. This will make you ignore the important problems that maybe affect you in the long run. Watching a movie like "fresh" brings it to your attention of how bad industrial agriculture really is. Others may look at it as the fast pace and large production, but other will look at it as consuming chemicals. Fresh brings out the importance of knowledge and paying attention to certain routine like lifestyles. It's more of a documentary other than a film. The main idea also isn't about how everyone should care and change their ways, but it for sure is an important conversation needed to put into consideration by more people other than being ignored and not spoken about.

Entry #6 Go Big or Go Home

Greetings everyone! Today I wanna speak about a topic that a lot of the world follows. Soccer, one of the biggest sports on earth if not the biggest. This game brings a lot of memories to me that come on my mind and make me zone out from the current and live that scene again.

It’s a thing that members of my family follow it passionately. The first memories that I can remember was in 2015 when I looked at a game for a few minutes that my brother was watching but he was the one that introduced me to the world of soccer  around 6 years ago.

He started following the game because of my uncle and cousin that are such loyal and passionate fans since decades ago and are still watching the sport with the same passion since the early days. It all started in 2018 when my brother was watching a champions league final and I saw him watching it with all of his senses fully focused on the details of it, so I was curious about what got him so connected to it and decided to start watching the final with him. It all started from that moment where I felt something special it was like that mysterious magic that keeps changing in front of you without really knowing what’s going to happen in the next minute and it got me connected wanting to know how it’s going to end. Little by little, my brother started explaining to me the details about everything.

I then started getting attached to the game so much and I understood how this game was followed by a lot of people around the world the magic of it so beautiful that it keeps you connected to it. And knowing that the 2026 world cup is going to be in the US makes me excited so much to witness in person and enjoy all the scenes and sounds of the crowd and watching the players up close is going to be an amazing experience.

Entry #5 Mess around and find out

Hello Hello, How are we today. I had to write another blog today. This one is interesting its going to help many people with some problems or even their confidence. Hopefully by the end of the blog, everyone should be happy and confidant. Sharing a piece with someone always gives an opportunity to connect with one another and start a conversation.

Its getting hot out which means other things are gonna get hot like your breath reeking in the 90 degree weather. The scent is going to hit your nostrils with the cold breeze like opening a fridge at 3 in the morning. Just like the fridge, you'll be blinded by the lights inside the package. The coldest that makes you refresh back into the winter. Feels like you're facing the ocean at night. That sold feeling of the package, with the shaking sound of each piece hitting each other almost sounds like its calling your name. Making your tongue remember what it feels like having one touching the roof of your mouth, and also connecting to your tongue.

Holding it in your hand might feel light but has so much power and affect it can do to your mouth. The monster hiding inside will fight against all the tatse buds in your mouth and will always win the battle no matter what type of taste you had before the battle. There's no time to hold it in your hand for too long. Holding on to it for a long time will cause wear and tear on your hand. The power it holds has been studied for years.

Like father like son, both the package and what's in the package are both the same shape but different size. The whole family looks the same and also has the same goal. working together will make an impact and even change the sound inside the package. The more there is, the more pleasing it sounds when shaking the container.

The crunch inside your mouth bring the attention of others. Each piece has its own story and will lead you to having a combined story together. 15 pieces means 15 opportunities to connect. The crack may break it in pieces but the story never ends there, but it will have an impact and will stay existing even after its end. There's many ways the story breaks up, whether its cracking or melting. The waterfall makes your tongue feel like its drowning in the coldest of the tatse.

Still haven't figured it out? Lets not waste time and get straight into it. Always remember, mess around and find out.

Entry#4 A Scare to the Face

Another day, Another blog. What's going on guys, we're back at it again. I love typing and talking about things I enjoy. I love watching movies more than shows usually. I can't keep up with too many episodes, I'll end up losing track if it's not in one sitting.

My favorite movie I've watched so far was scarface. It has taught me so many lessons that I've never noticed or paid attention to. I've watched it a couple of times now, one with my brother and another time with all my friends.  One thing about scarface that was thoughtful is the unchecked ambition and his hunger for power that made him leave his job at the restaurant, washing dishes. He felt like he was at his lowest in life. He needed money, he was hungry for USD. Growing up in Cuba, with no dad, he had to be the family man making money and feeding his sister and mom. Ideas stared to eat his brain. Too much brainstorming comes with consequences. He continued to have a dream of having a bigger role in his life but his inability to set limits to himself ended up being the opposite towards what he was trying to achieve as it led to his downfall and not keeping what he had because of greed and led to becoming in a loss of everything he owned.

Loyalty was another big thing in scarface where it showed the relationship between tony and manny. Many was his day one friend that went through the same thing Tony went through.  Their overthinking and paranoia that led them to make enemies out of people that weren’t a threat.  Another important thing that stood out for Tony was that in his world, betrayal was present and can happen anytime and that led to mistrusting and ended up isolated by himself. Prime example is when . Manny, his bestfriend, got with Tony's sisterManny taking that step made tony angry to the point where he shot and killed his own friend. Family comes first in every world.

Another thing was how having power without self control can turn very bad quickly and just like the saying with great power comes great responsibility, Tony’s gain of wealth and influence affected him in a way where he lost himself by becoming addicted to drugs which made him lose that mental and emotional control over what he owned that made him end up in losing what he owned. All those business deals he messed out on.

Entry #9 Food Poison

Hello everyone how are we doing. Another day and another blog. Today, I want to take you with me for a thought about a topic that I’ve been...
