Entry #2. A tail to A Bronx Tale

Hidden messages in movies are only understood by a certain group of watchers. The theme sometimes may not even reach the surface of the movie. The messages may be buried deep down to the point where some of the audience may have to ask others on what some slight details mean. A Bronx Tale is a movie rich of hidden keys to the treasure. The main idea and one of the first and most important lessons mentioned was the choice of good or bad, easy or hard, lavish or miserable. These choices that I just listed can have complete different meanings to one another. Maybe, the "good" choice could mean the shortcut way to life which could lead to danger. Life is full of choices, growing up, Calogero was stuck in between either choosing the safe route where you will have to work hard for bread like his hard working bus driver dad that worked morning to night to feed a family, or the risky route that Calogero watched from his front porch, Sonny, a gang member leader that got things done his way and ran the streets of New York city. Moral of the story is one choice could turn your life upside down which is the most important choice that will decide who you become after.

Role models have the biggest affect on a follower. The opinions of what's good and what's bad differs depending on an environment a person grew up in or maybe even the role model they looked up to, to become a role model just like them.  Role modeling can be difficult at times because you don't know who specifically looks up to you and your actions. For example, Sonny had a strong idea on what loyalty, respect, and survival meant. On the other hand, Calogero's father had a stronger idea on family, love, and being a good man. Both are great role models but one had to be stronger than the other. Lesson taught is be careful on who you look up to because it'll end up shaping you as a person.

Respecting someone and fearing to disrespecting are two complete subjects. Fear creates fake respect, one on one respect that is temporary, it'll last until there's no power any more for you to fear. On the other hand, Respect is earned by actions. Actions that will represent you for a very long time and will always keep you in peoples' heads. Respect hands you more than just being respected but it values you as a person and hands you a place anywhere you go. Fear will last only while you're at it and active, and will be forgotten.

Entry #1. Sunday Carday

I would like to take a moment and introduce everyone to my one and only blog. In this segment I'll be talking about mostly about my favorite hobby I enjoy doing every much. This means I could be sick and doing it, tired, or it could be night time, past midnight and you'll still catch me enjoying working on my car and building it to its limits. I grew up around the car environment  ever since I was a little kid back in Iraq, my home country. Growing up, 2 of my uncles were professional mechanics. Well one of them specialized in Seats and interior of the car, this goes as far as making custom seats, door panels, and even headliners. He even worked on large passenger vehicles like busses. On the other hand my other uncle specialized in motors and transmissions. I would get out of school and instantly ask my dad if he wants to go to either shops to just sit around and watch them and have a chat while I went and played around and helped... well sometimes because I was afraid of messing up one of the customers cars. My dad and I wouldn't leave until they fully close. I also forgot to mention, my dad had a 1998 BMW 740il. That was the first car I've ever driven, it was my favorite. I fell in love with cars because of the Beamer.

Being around cars and driving them is what got me to where I am currently and my passion towards cars. My parents were tired of me talking about cars and asking for toy cars all the time. Till this day, every time we pass by the toys isle, they mention my love for cars as a kid. An addition to my passion, I still have the first toy car I remember asking for. Its collecting dust back home but at least I know its still there and not destroyed. I would take so many pictures of it and wash it all the time just like how I wash my car... every two days. Owning a black car that you care about isn't for the weak.

Learning about working on cars has helped me so much to the point where I've saved so much money on labor by doing it myself instead of paying to get it done. Yes, of course there's thing I cannot always do myself whether its tuning the computer, Painting parts, and other more complicated tasks only people specialized in things like that can accomplish and get done for me. My knowledge doesn't only benefit me specifically but it also benefits my family. For example, I would help them most of the time with simple things they need to get done or changed. I feel like its a great skill for anybody to learn and its never too late to create new hobbies and skills in life.
